How to do a dumbbell bent-over row:
- Stand with a dumbbell in each hand, with a neutral grip.
- Hinge forward at the hips, until your torso is roughly parallel with the floor.
- Pull the dumbbells up towards your body – retracting the shoulder blades and driving the elbows back just past your torso.
- Slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position.
- Repeat.

Benefits
A great move to target your upper back, whilst also working the biceps and core abdominal muscles, the bent over row is a good calorie burner and helps you build strength.
Improve your form and technique
- Engage your core as you pull the dumbbells into your body, this helps keep your back straight and prevent arching.
- Keep the dumbbells moving smoothly and under control through each rep – don’t allow their momentum to destabalize you.
